Horses Deserve Respect, Dignity!

A few months ago, I volunteered to improve public hiking and riding trails near my house in Placitas, New Mexico. The trails were on hundreds of acres of city and federally owned public property. As we drove to the place where we were to fix the trails, our pickup bouncing up and down on dirt roads - untravelled for years, we came over a hill, and there we saw them:

Wild Horses!

I was excited. I had just moved to New Mexico, having grown up in Germany. And they were close! As we drove on, we came within 20 feet of three horses. But then we heard the sad news. A local said that most of the wild horses were suffering, with bad teath, and other deseases. Most die very young.

It was then that I decided I wanted to help horse rescues, and other organizations, by making a free online equine marketplace. I worked together with my brother Josef and sister Elke, and finally, on October 10, 2009, less than two weeks ago, we launched Equiseller.com.
